After spending over two years in legal limbo following the closing of former Boston-based label Big Wheel Recreation (Piebald, Jimmy Eat World, At The Drive In), the follow-up to The Cancer Conspiracy's 2002 instrumental Post-Prog masterpiece The Audio Medium will finally see the light of day. The group's final full length is being co-released by Radar Recordings and Wisconsin's Gilead Media (The Appleseed Cast, ...Of Sinking Ships) on both CD and vinyl.
Longtime fans and friends of The Cancer Conspiracy, Radar founders Will Benoit and Mike Repasch-Nieves have been working for the past few years to restore the recording's legal rights to their proper owners—the band members themselves—in the hope that the album would finally be made available to the public. Radar & Gilead expect an late 2007 release for the record, which was produced by Matt Squire (Thrice, Hot Water Music, Panic! At The Disco). The album, simply titled "Ω," was written and recorded between 2003-2006 by founding members Daryl Rabidoux (Drowningman) and Greg Beadle (Non Compos Mentis, Township), with bassist John Northrup (The Burning Paris, The Rise Park), following the departure of original bassist Brent Frattini, who went on to join Daughters (Hydra Head Records).
